RESTORATION UPDATE
Happy holidays! The snow is coming down hard and we’re excited to get back out on the slopes! We are still working hard on renovations at our place. At the moment it seems like they will be completed by the spring (March). Please keep checking back for updates and note that we are still not accepting reservations. Come and enjoy the beauty of Nelson, BC with us! The Backcountry Hostel is equipped to make your stay in the area the best it can be.
We are a privately owned, clean, funky and affordable hostel right downtown in the middle of all the amenities, with lots of space (5000 sq. ft!) to mingle with new people in our two large common areas or curl up with a book in front of a fantastic view of Nelson and the Kokanee Glacier.
The hostel is completely renovated, and EACH of our private AND dorm (4,6 and 8 person) rooms have full bathrooms. Private rooms all have cable T.V.
We have a large community kitchen, lounge, T.V. room, ski and snowboard waxing room, separate fully ventilated smoke room, laundry service and internet. We also have plenty of free storage for all your boards, bikes, skis and bags.
Within walking distance to many supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, banks and shops, we are also above a popular nightclub that is loud Thursday to Saturday nights, so we cater to a ‘younger’ crowd, and are not suitable for families or seniors. We have no curfew or lockout. Office hours are from 8am to 1pm and 3pm to 11pm.
We can help you arrange all your hiking, biking and winter sport needs! Nelson also has world-class DJs and live bands touring through town on a regular basis, loads of shows you don’t want to miss! Ask any of us here and we’ll point you in the right direction!
From free tea, coffee and weekend waffles, to things like boot and glove dryers and a great staff that will ensure that you make it to the best activities, shows and parties, The Backcountry Hostel has lots of little extras that make it special.
The difference between us and the other hostels is simply that we have traveled extensively, and we try to take the best aspects of the hostels we’ve been to and do the same here. Give us a call and let us know what we can do for you!
